Information we collect
Wiki Race keeps the information required to host stable multiplayer sessions and improve the product. This includes:
- Lobby details: host-generated lobby IDs, starting and target article selections, and the status of each round.
- Player information: nicknames you type before entering a lobby and the device's IP address used for basic security.
- Gameplay paths: the sequence of Wikipedia links clicked during an active race so we can produce results and resolve disputes.
- Diagnostic data: limited telemetry such as error logs and performance timing that helps us keep the site fast and reliable.
How we use information
- Deliver the Wiki Race experience you request, including syncing pages across players.
- Detect and prevent abuse, fraud, or behavior that violates our community guidelines.
- Improve features by understanding how often specific tools and flows are used.
- Respond to support requests and follow up on bug reports.
When we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share limited data with trusted service providers who help us operate the game (for example, analytics and error monitoring). These providers only use the data to perform services on our behalf and must follow the same security commitments we do.
Cookies and local storage
Wiki Race uses essential cookies to remember that you accepted our policy and to keep your active session tied to the right lobby. Optional analytics cookies are only set after you provide consent. You can clear cookies in your browser at any time, but doing so may remove saved preferences and log you out of active lobbies.
Data retention
Lobby and gameplay information is retained only as long as necessary to operate the service. Race paths are deleted shortly after a lobby closes. Diagnostic data may be kept longer so we can analyze trends and improve stability. We keep aggregated, non-identifying metrics for analytics.
Your rights and choices
You can request deletion of race data associated with a specific lobby by emailing support@wiki-race.app with the lobby code and approximate time of play. We will verify the request and delete logs where legally permitted.
